3rd IRF Mideast conference in Bahrain

 

The IRF’s signature, largest, and most comprehensive event in the Middle East in 2012 was held under the patronage of H.H. Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister Kingdom of Bahrain, and supported by the Ministry of Works, in Manama, Bahrain from January 9 to 11, 2012.

The Kingdom of Bahrain, along with Saudi Arabia and the Gulf countries, is undergoing fast economic growth, anchored on a solid foundation of ongoing and future infrastructure projects. The event promotes the development and dissemination of relevant global innovative solutions and best practices that will be needed to meet Bahrain’s and the region's infrastructure and safety needs.

The event consisted of three main elements: a conference, certified professional training, and a commercial and technology exhibition.

The congress technical sessions focused on best practices, innovation, and lessons-learned in areas of road safety, intelligent transport systems (ITS), asset management and pavements, public-private partnerships and financing, and environmental and sustainability issues. The executive sessions featured global leaders from all sectors and of the highest caliber.

Finally, the commercial and technology exhibition added a practical dimension to the event, presenting the best and most appropriate solutions for the region.

In transportation the focus is also on intelligent transport system and on ways to reduce traffic congestion. Sameer Nass, Managing Director, Nass the Group, said the conference provided an opportunity to network with contractors and consultants and discuss developments.
 
"We look around for new technologies and knowledge in the latest," he said.
