Above, motorists pass through the flyover from all directions

The BD50 million Isa Town Interchange was officially thrown open to traffic in all directions, with the last part of one of Bahrain’s most complex road projects being completed yesterday.

The flyover was opened in a ceremony attended by Works Minister Esam Khalaf and other officials. More than 6,000 cars use it per hour during peak times. Work on the project stopped temporarily after the original contractor Sungwon Corporation was axed in February last year. It was re-tendered and awarded to Nass Corporation three months later.
