As a part of an educational field trip, 55 students from the Sanabil Private School, accompanied by teachers, visited the ASRY Infrastructure project site undertaken by Nass contracting, to learn about the relevance of Geometry and Precalculus in the field of Civil Engineering.
Nass Contracting, a civil engineering company of Nass Corporation, acquired the ASRY Infrastructure project earlier this year. The venture involves the development of the infrastructure required for the ASRY basin in the form of underground utilities, Compressor building, Substations and other appurtenances including a state of the art reed-bed sewage treatment plant.
The visit coordinated by Nass Contracting QA/QC manager Mr. Saurav Sen, spanned over two days, on 16th and 17th of May respectively, where 24 students from grade 12 and 31 students from grades 7 to 11, were given a tour of the site. They learnt about the various applications of theoretical principles adopted in the field of Civil and Mechanical engineering.
During their visit, the students were given a brief introduction about the company and basic safety induction. They were then enlightened on the process of how projects are realized from ideas to practical implementation and taken on tour to see work-in-progress on the site itself, at close quarters.
The students got a unique opportunity to witness the different types of construction at the Ship repair basin.
“We are delighted to welcome the children to the site and to show them around our project. We hope this visit has been helpful for them with their individual school projects as well as giving them an opportunity to consider this branch of engineering, as their field of interest" said Mr. Nigel Hector, Contracts Manager, Nass Contracting.
The experience was cherished dearly by all the students and faculty members, and they thanked the management for sharing their expertise and insights, and spending some time with the children to help them gain firsthand knowledge about the projects.
