MANAMA: NASS Mechanical Contracting successfully loaded a 430-tonne loader unit onto a ship at the Nass Mechanical Jetty in Hidd yesterday.

The unit, which took the Bahrain company around a year to complete, was made for Swedish customer Sandvik.

Using superior technology, it has the capacity to load 4,000 tonnes of sulphur granules per hour, said Nass Mechanical Contracting general manager Nabeel Nass.

"We have successfully loaded this equipment onto the ship after it was manufactured, commissioned and tested," he told the GDN.

"The ship is going to Qatar and the equipment is for their Qatargas company to do their sulphur loading."
