NOP-Nass is the Bahrain agent for the leading water saving material – Sanoplant. The company have also recently been granted the agency for Sanoplant in Qatar. This material is a patented and proven water saving amendment that is guaranteed by the manufacturer, Sanoway Gmbh of Austria, to reduce irrigation water usage by a minimum of 50% and to remain effective for at least 10 years.
Other major benefits arise from the reduced level of irrigation and from the fact that water and nutrients are available in the root zone 24 hours a day. Plant growth is much quicker and stronger, less fertilizer is required and salt build up is slower leading to longer intervals between flushing. Sanoplant is one of the few water saving materials than can be flushed free of salt and returned to 100% effectiveness.
In Bahrain, Sanoplant is by far the most widely used water saving product and has been used in the Tala Island, Shaikha Hessa Mosque, Gudaibiya Palace, Reef Island, Ministry of the Interior driving school and Palace Hotel projects and has been specified for King Hamad Hospital, Royal College of Surgeons, Sh. Khalifa Park and Arad Bay projects and is widely accepted by Consultants. Sanoplant was approved several years ago by Nakheel (the largest property developer in the UAE) for use in its developments and a large quantity has recently been installed at the Dubai Gardens of Discovery project.
Sanoplant is extremely cost effective because of the low application rates. 1 kg is needed to plant a mature tree in a 1 cubic meter pit. The cost of Sanoplant is usually recovered within the first year. Part of the cost can also be offset by reducing the organic material normally used by 50%. When incorporated in lawn, groundcover or shrub areas, only 450 grams per m2 is required. The application method is very simple.
NOP-Nass also market slow release fertilizer tablets for use when planting trees and shrubs.
