Project Description:
The Amwaj Island development works site is located at Qassar Jurdi, Northeast of Muharraq. The construction of nine concrete bridges on the prestigious $USD 1 billion Amwaj Island Development, to provide general vehicular access between the individual islands, as well as within a marina/floating city area located within the overall development.
Scope of works:
• The construction of 5 major (ranging from 5x20m spans to 3x20m spans, and four minor (15m arched), concrete bridges.
• Works at the major bridges comprise of the following:
Filling for access requirements, bored and cast insitu reinforced piling, reinforced
Concrete pile caps and bridge substructures, precast pre-tensioned bridge beams, temporary support-work to the deck slabs, insitu cast deck slabs, parapets, sidewalks, service tunnels, waterproofing, asphalting, abutments, wing walls, approach slabs, channel dredging, and scour protection.
• Works at the minor/arch bridges comprise of the following:
Filling for access requirements, bored and cast insitu reinforced piling, reinforced concrete pile caps, precast arch beams, side walls and infill panels with insitu deck slab, parapets, sidewalks, waterproofing, asphalting, abutment approach slabs, channel dredging, and scour protection.
