The Project was awarded to a Consortium comprising Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company, Nass Contracting and Nass-Murray & Roberts Joint Venture each responsible for carrying out the dredging work, rock and revetments and construction of the quay wall respectively.
Nass Contracting executed more than 50% of the value of this project in addition; more than 300,000 m³ of concrete was supplied by The Nass Group Company, Delmon Ready Mix Concrete.
Key Construction Elements : -
- 24,000,000 cubic metres of dredged fill
- 12km of revetment protection and breakwater comprising 1,300,000 cubic metres of quarry run bund core, 650,000 cubic metres of secondary armour, filter stone toe berm etc, 450,000 cubic metres of primary armour
- Vessel berthing facilities comprising 1,800 lin m of gravity block quay wall with minimum 15m depth designed for containers, general cargo, dry bulk and roll-on roll-off traffic small craft berths
